March 1 Show and Tell

Barbara has been practicing machine quilting on quilts she will donate to the Teddy Bear Tea Project.  Below are several of the quilts she has pieced and quilted.







Bonnie made this quilt for her sister who requested the colors purple and green.
Bonnie created this fabric in an ice dyeing class.
"Grasses" is one of Bonny's UFOs--Unfinished quilt projects.
Ruthe,  Jacky, Jane, Bonnie and Barbara made these small quilts in a class about the Cathedral Window technique.

Delberta finished this UFO and will donate it to the Teddy Bear Quilts project. 
Delberta made "Yo Yos with Pizzazz."
Faye will donate this quilt top to Comfort Quilts.
Glenda showed the rows she has made for the guild's 2018 challenge. The row above is the May row, inspired by May flowers and using embroidery.
Glenda's row for June contains 4 patches and is inspired by blue skies.
The July row uses the color of tomatoes on the vine and reverse appliqué to represent a primitive design.
This bright golden fabric is the color of summer sun, has a nine patch, and is inspired by the word "balanced."
Glenda's final row for September has a merry-go-round which was her initial inspiration for this row quilt challenge which  she presented to guild members. The row quilts will be shown at the guild's August program meeting.
Jacky quilted this top which was pieced by her mother.
Jane finished this bear for one of her "bucket list" UFO projects
The top of this quilt is pictured below. Jane made this quilt for one of her daughters. The back is a very soft Minke fabric.

Joan showed this small quilt which is one of her "bucket list" UFOs.

Kate finished this appliqué quilt to represent 4 friends who travel together.
Kate finished this wall hanging from last year's guild challenge.
Kate made this quilt as a raffle quilt for the Women's Air Traffic Controllers conference which she will attend.

Kate made this portrait of a 13 year old niece who loves purple.
This is the back of the striking quilt pictured below, which is a gift for Kay's 5 year old granddaughter. It is hand quilted.

Linda made this quilt for the YMCA Armed Services Kid's Quilt project--Operation Kid Comfort. Quilts are given to children whose parents are deployed.

Linda left us in awe with her "Identity" quilt. She recreated her thumb print with the names of all the quilts she has made.
Linda showed two small quilts made with men's shirt fabric.
