April 5, 2012 Show & Tell

146 ( or more now) Comfort Quilts are being distributed to 15 different Agencies. Our next Comfort Quilt work day will fall on May 31st.
Jackie C. made this quilt for her Grand-daughter's graduation. Below is the Minkie back. Quilting by Deb Hardman.
Barbara C. Finished this quilt from blocks made by ALCQ members, for a Comfort Quilt.
Another comfort quilt.
Barbara also donated this for a Teddy Bear quilt.
Ann finished up this quilt for comfort quilts. Regina made the top, & Barb quilted it.
Ruthe finished her purse, that she designed herself, in Deb Hardman's class.
She made the fob on the front from collected beads & a piece of fused glass from Deb's friend Mindy.
Ruthe also did this table runner, using a border print fabric.
This is a quilt top that she pieced, & has decided to slash & reshape. Sh passed around a paper version that she experimented with to show how she worked through the process of deciding where to go next with it.
Linda P. made this Fireweed.
The back side was as beautiful as the front.
Peggy B. did this strip quilt,
& this quilt that was a Mystery Quilt from the Valdez Quilt Festival 2011.
Sorry I forgot to take notes on this one...
Sandy Winfree showed us her "Girl With a Pearl By the Sea" again. It won a judge's choice in Portland, & is now going to a show in Denver.
Sandy is also making these next 2 quilts, based on drawings she did a few years ago when she was too ill to do anything other than lift a pencil, & draw.

Judy W. made this Noah's Ark quilt from an old "Little Quilts"pattern.
She had lots of left-over bits from the pieced border, which she used in a few more small quilts.

Robyn M. made this quilt out of old men's ties.
Barb made this bag for the Transformed treasures auction coming up at Salvation Army.
Please note, I have been leaving out last names for most people due to a request by a member, but if you want your last name published, let me know & I will add them in future posts.
