July 20 Quilt Bingo and Show and Tell

During our July program meeting, we played Quilt Bingo. Members made their own "cards" by piecing 2.5" squares to make a block using specified fabric types and colors. Winners received small prizes. After the game, members could use their blocks for their own quilt projects or donate them to Comfort Quilts to be used in donation quilts.

We also enjoyed a variety of quilts during Show and Tell.

Barbara made a small quilt titled, "It's Pointless", using stars made from scraps.

Bonnie made this cute playmat with small cars to accompany it.

Kate "up-cycled" a shirt by adding colorful squares.

Kay's dinosaur quilt will be a delightful gift for a child.

Margo's owl quilt is the result of her participation in the June class on weaving two fabrics together.

Marilyn's quilt has bears peaking out from colorful clamshell pieces.

Pat thought this wall-hanging would be a good donation for the fundraiser to benefit a local fireman injured on the job.

Pat made this boot quilt to donate to the small quilt auction.

July 6 Show and Tell

Barbara used scrap fabric to make this patriotic Teddy Bear quilt  for the Teddy Bear Tea service project.

Barbara won the challenge blocks at May's guild retreat. Figuring out how to put such diverse blocks together was a challenge so Barbara made 3 small quilts (one above, two below) to donate to the Small Quilt Auction at the September quilt show.

Carol's queen size quilt project became a small wall-hanging after she tired of making bow ties.

This quilt is the Community Quilt composed of squares made by community members at last year's quilt show. Those who made a square will be entered in a drawing for the quilt.

Delberta made this Dresden Plate wall hanging for her sister.

Katy's quilt was a group quilt made by ARCO employees in 1999. She finally quilted it this summer.

Linda used the square in a square technique learned in the Kept in Stitches small group to make this quilt from shirt fabric.

Lynne made this quilt from left-over fabric. Although this side is the back, she likes it better than the front.

The Valley Quilters' Guild has made this large quilt for a raffle fund raiser for Quilts of Valor.
