After our monthly business meeting and delicious cake to celebrate June birthdays (Birthday tip from Marilyn M: "Done is better than perfect."), we settled back in our seats for Show and Tell.

Irene described her technique for quilting multiple quilts on the same backing with her longarm quilting machine. She pieces a king-size backing and attaches it to her longarm machine. She showed two comfort quilts which she had quilted on the same large backing, saving the time to attach two separate backings. |

Irene also showed the second place ribbon she won in the computerized quilting category, along with a monetary award, at the MQX Quilt Festival--New England show. Her quilt, "Lost at Sea", also won People's Choice for large quilts in the ALCQ September show. You can find that quilt on the photo page of the 2014 Quilt Show. |

Glenda cautioned us to "wait for the first sonogram" before making a baby quilt. Thinking her son and daughter-in-law were having a girl, she made this pretty, pink quilt. After learning that the baby will be a boy, Glenda decided to donate this quilt to the Valley Quilt Guild. |

Jackie S. used Alaska themed fabric to make kuspuks for her granddaughters' American Girl dolls. |

Glenda ended our meeting with a name-tag drawing. Winners could chose a plant to brighten our currently damp and cloudy weather. |
