Extra Meeting! This Thursday Jan 22nd

Subject: ALCQ Mtg Jan 22

This Thursday, Jan 22 at 10:30 am, we are planning a big splash of a meeting at Central Lutheran Church (regular meeting place) - kicking off new satellite groups, and making log cabin name tags. New satellite groups include:
1) new-to-quilting;
2) UFO (unfinished projects);
3) hand applique;
4) fabric printing/dyeing.

Other suggestions for new groups will be welcomed (bring questionnaire from pg 5 in the January newsletter or see attached).

For making name tags bring to the meeting:
your sewing machine,
fabric scissors,
seam ripper,
variety of scraps/strips of small print fabric - any color.
The add-a-quarter ruler comes in handy, too.

One-half of each name tag is cream or white, so bring some scraps of these as well. These name tags will be for yourself, as well as for new members. This fun session is for both beginners and intermediates. Questions? Call Harriet Shaftel

Today's Board Meeting Cancelled

Due to our icy roads & sudden spring breakup-like weather, today's Board meeting was cancelled, but 11 brave souls showed up for the Day group, & enjoyed chatting, show and tell and lots of birthday cake.The next regular meeting will be February 5.

A Board meeting will be on January 29 prior to Comfort Quilts .

The photo above is from Anchorage Community Mental Health. I would appreciate anyone who knows who worked on this quilt, to email me the info so I can edit it in here. Also if you have photos from guild functions, or anything you want to announce. Let me know, & I will include them here & on our web-page.
