October 5 Show and Tell

Guild members have been busy piecing, quilting, and binding Comfort Quilts which will be donated to various Anchorage social service organizations. Below are photos of 12 comfort quilts which were shown after the October 5 business meeting.

Using fabric from their friend's stash, Roxanne and Lynne made this Friendship Quilt for a friend who is leaving Alaska after living here for 40 years.

Kate used an orphan block and Timex to make this kite.

Linda made this cute sock monkey quilt.

Ruthe models the waterproof hat she made.

Ruthe's comfort quilt donation was made from a panel. She added a pocket garage on the back for two toy cars.

September 21 Annual Meeting & President's Challenge

The guild's annual meeting included a business meeting with election of officers and adoption of the 2017-2018 budget. After the main business, guild members who participated in the President's Challenge explained their creations using that fabric. Photos of the varied ways members used the fabric are posted below. New challenge fabric made up the centerpieces on the tables. Also, Glenda announced a new challenge for the year--a Row Quilt. The first instructions were printed in the October newsletter. Sign up will happen at the October 5 guild meeting. After the meeting adjourned, we enjoyed a tasty potluck and a chance to visit.
