Rene'Haag, the owner of Blaine's Art Supply, here in Anchorage came today & demonstrated several different items that can be used on fabric. She was VERY generous with supplies, & let everyone decorate squares of fabric & cloth bags.
She also brought Francine, a silk painter & art instructor for the store, who did some demo-

Next we all got to play....with things like Shiva Sticks, rubbing plates,encaustic paint as mono prints, Alcohol inks, silk painting, stencils, & more...
Rene gave each person a great little goody bag at the end of the play-time. We had a BLAST!!!
Show & tell did happen too, though some of us wanted to continue playing.
George made this denim quilt for Rena's oldest son. He used his new
George got a new Shashiko stitching machine, & used it to make this quilt.
This yellow one is also a sample he did on his new machine.
Jetta showed 2 of the schlep bags that she made. She said she had 14 more at home.
Delberta made a Dresden table runner.
Robyn did this beautiful little crazy quilt for a friend. She put it together following Deb Hardman's Simply Crazy method.
Kay did this window effect quilt using a fabric panel & a bias tape method that Winee taught their small group.
Linda P. took a "Back Baste Applique'" class from Judith Beckingham, & made this Chickadee quilt.
Her grandson requested a Boston Bruin quilt for his bed, & she made this great quilt.
Betty R. made this "Montana" quilt for a great nephew.
She also did 2 small quilts.
Elaine F. made a puzzle quilt for a great grand-child.
Linn A. made a Half fan quilt & hand quilted it for a grand daughter.
She also started this top, & has plans for applique' on the white parts.
Barbara C. has pledged to make a comfort quilt a month.
Kat L. showed several pieces that she hand dyed & printed/painted with dyes.
