Monkeying Around

Linda's family's enjoyment of sock monkeys was her inspiration for this quilt.  The  "Sock Monkey Quilt" pattern was created by Cindi Jo. Linda needle-turn appliquéd the monkeys and stuffed their stomachs.

Heaven Help Us

Linda created this quilt as a memory of family road trips. The 30's reproduction fabric reminds her that the U.S. has struggled through hard times in the past and has persevered. The text is hand embroidered, and the quilt is hand quilted. The pattern was by Flamingo Toes.

Linda's husband photographed pages from Linda's mother-in-law's 7th grade sewing sampler book.  Linda used the trapunto technique to raise the pages in the quilt, then machine quilted the quilt.

Oh Buoy! Oh Buoy!

After problems with her left hand, Linda learned to do the needle-turn appliqué of the buoys with her right hand. She recycled her family's halibut fishing rope for the embellishment. The pattern is "Rockport Buoys" by Karen Gibbs.
