January 4, 2018, Show and Tell

Bonny made this colorful quilt in a class about "Painted Trees."

Carol found a bear for her basketball quilt, a donation to the guild's Teddy Bear Tea service project.

This quilt will also be donated to the Teddy Bear Tea project.

Carol created this quilt from fabric she found on the Free Table.

This is a whole cloth Comfort Quilt.

This denim and flannel quilt is a Comfort Quilt.

Katy shows a Comfort Quilt which she quilted.

Katy also quilted this Comfort Quilt which Margaret pieced from a jelly roll she won in a retreat raffle basket.

Delberta made this little donation for the Teddy Bear Tea project.

Glenda got this idea from Pinterest.

Glenda showed her rows for the Roosting Row Quilt Challenge.  The top row is for January: pinwheels and troublesome. The second row is for February: hearts. The third row is March's row: half-square triangles and sparkling. The bottom row is April's: log cabin.

Glenda made this wall-hanging for the Valley Guild's challenge, and she used last year's ALCQ president's fabric.

Linda made this quilt as part of the Services YMCA Kid's Quilt service project. Quilters are given photos printed on fabric and a suggested pattern. They add their own fabric to make quilts for kids age 1-6 whose parents are deployed. Kids over age 7 receive a pillow.

Nancy made this to practice the flange binding technique.

Nancy found these embroidered blocks on Ebay and made a quilt for a neighbor's baby.

The linens used in this quilt came from Nancy's friend's grandmother.

Ruthe made this comfort quilt using left-over fabric from the quilt below.

Although Ruthe told us of the problems she faced when piecing this Quilt of Valor for a friend, we  admired the final result.

Ruthe didn't have children's fabric for this YMCA Kid's Quilt so she appliquéd hearts.
