May 18-21, 2017, Retreat

The ALCQ Annual Retreat was held at North Star Bible Camp on the Willow-Fishhook Road. Thirty-two quilters attended this year. "Strippin' In The North Woods" was the theme. Thank you to all of the Retreat Committee members who worked hard to create another productive and fun retreat.

Diane made this wall-hanging from a photograph she took last year of a moose at the lake.

This year's block challenge was to make a 6.5" block using strips of fabric that had been discarded by Eleanor Burns. Barbara won the blocks to put together as she wishes.
Glenda demonstrated ways to insert zippers in quilted bags.
During the session, "Improvisational Use of Scraps", Donna showed her strip piecing technique through examples of her quilts and blocks.

Barbara helped Donna display a scrap pieced work in progress.
